“The Wronged Man”: Another Kevin Keith?
July 28, 2010

If you read the previous post about Kevin Keith and/or are concerned about wrongful convictions, you should see “The Wronged Man.” This was just released on DVD. It was a Lifetime TV movie starring Julia Ormond. It is based on the true story of Calvin Willis, who spent twenty years in prison in Louisiana for a rape he did not commit. The film traces his struggle, his family’s struggle, and the heroic efforts of paralegal Janet “Prissy” Gregory. Mr. Willis was assisted in his exoneration by the Innocence Project.

When I rented the film, the woman at the video store couldn’t stop talking about it. She noted that she cried during the film and just couldn’t believe that injustices like this occur because there was just so much which, to her, was obviously wrong with Mr. Willis’ conviction.

Regretfully, I informed her that these injustices still happen…
